Being a descendant of O.H. Methvin, I am very pleased to see the City of Longview honor it’s founding father and beginnings of this great city.

Longview is my adopted home town, it is where my wife and I decided to raise our four children.  It is exciting to me that Longview can celebrate 150 years of progress.   I look forward to all of the great things to come for this city!

The class of 2014 has earned their degrees and returned back to working at various schools in Longview: Elizabeth"Bit" Thompson, Landry Peppers, Myiana White and Jewel Hewitt are all LISD teachers. Hats off to the class of 2014!

The Great Texas Balloon Race happens every year in Longview. The 2016 race had a startling event! "Took this photo @ the balloon festival 7-23-2016 @7:36 a. m. They returned safely. I was in the right place at the right time photographing hot air balloons."

My wife and I have lived here for the past 6 years. She grew up in Ore City, I grew up in various parts of the US. She has worked for RLM Contractors since we moved in. I started with the News-Journal 5 months ago. We both enjoy our jobs. Happy 150 Anniversary Longview.
